Olivia @ 21 months!
It feels kinda strange that I keep saying Olivia is almost 2! It feels like we were just planning her 1st birthday party~ Olivia has grown quite a bit in these past few months with her vocabulary. She now says things like "mommy, sit, mommy, sit" while patting a chair or the couch. She also says "daddy's cup" while pointing to his cup. She can have a pretend phone conversation putting the phone to her ear and walking around the house mimicking mommy and daddy. She also is in the testing phase where she does an activity that she knows she isn't supposed to do just to test us. She loves to stand and climb on the couch. Even after she is told not to do it, she'll get right back to doing it. Olivia now knows what time-out is whether it is in her crib or in the corner (which is new). I have a feeling that she thinks it is fun to be in the corner...
Olivia loves ring around the rosey and any kind of dancing for that matter. She especially loves to dance with her family and friends. I think she is going to be a ham just like her sister, Erica.
I have been working sporadically. Ama & Boopa Revitz still watch Olivia mostly, but we are going to try something new this week. Olivia is going to stay at our friend's house with a sitter and a little boy who is around Olivia's age. We are going to start this week one day only and go from there.
The picture of Olivia here is lunchtime with her pasta, or papas as she calls it :)
She LOVES pasta!!!

18 mos!
Little Olivia is now 18 months old! She will be going for her check-up in a few weeks. I have been working 3 days a week and Olivia seems to be more clingy lately...maybe it is just this age but she definitely requires full attention from mommy ALL the time! Olivia does very well in certain circumstances like at Bees Knees which is a learn and play center. It has dress up, crafts, dollhouses, trains, you name it! She is constantly entertained and ventures off from mommy (which is always a plus for me).
Olivia's vocabulary is extremely impressive with words like cheese, ball, potty, yes, no, mommy, daddy, meatball, elmo, head, eyes, hand, teeth, etc...
Speaking of the potty, Olivia has gone pee pee on the potty before bathtime! We do practice nightly before the bath.
Olivia can toss a ball. She also holds Milo's leash and we walk the dogs together!

Olivia is 16 months old - potty training and showering
At this stage in toddlerhood, we felt that it was time to begin potty training. Olivia's motor skills are progressing beautifully and she does seem very interested in the whole bathroom process. She will sit on her potty for a few seconds before bathtime. It has become part of our nighttime routine. Besides the potty, Olivia discovered the shower and does not want to take a bath anymore. It is ALL about the shower. It is so much more interesting than a boring bath!
Olivia also began babbling. She will read a book and begin talking aloud as if she is actually reading the story. She knows quite a few words now like Cheerio, Agua, shower, potty, home, mommy and daddy.
Lastly, at her 16 month check-up, Olivia got one shot. She weighs 22.8 lbs and is 31" long. She got a clean bill of health and the doc wants to see her in 3 mos.

Almost 16 months- milestones!!!
Grandma & Grandpa Revitz watched Olivia last night. She slept in the play-yard with no problems!! Thanks to grandma and grandpa, Olivia went to sleep like a perfect little angel and went to sleep in the play-yard after reading lots of stories and rocking back and forth. Olivia is trying so hard to make sentences. She will pick up the phone and babble...and then at the end of her 'conversation', she says "yeah". LOL! Maybe she is copying mommy!! She also says "hi" every time the phone rings. She is learning her animal sounds and we practice them every day. She knows monkey, cat, owl and lion so far :) Keep you posted...Olivia has her 16 month check-up on Tuesday with Dr.Kraft.

Muah! (15 months)
Olivia can now sing "e-i-e-i-o" from the Old MacDonald song! She likes to feed herself with the spoon. She has not had a bottle during the daytime since my last post. We are only doing bottles at night time(3-4 oz.)...but are waking with full diapers at 2AM! (even with the Huggies Overnites!!!) My little angelface loves attention from mommy! She does not like when mommy tries to cook dinner or do something that does not involve her! She gets very upset and the whole neighborhood can hear :) Olivia can blow kisses! She imitates mommy and daddy and says "MUAH!"
So I think we curbed the full diaper episodes in the early AM hrs by only giving Olivia 2.5 oz of milk before bedtime.

Bye Bye BaBa
Olivia is about 15 mos and I feel like now is the time to drop the baba. I don't like seeing toddlers still drinking from a bottle. I know this isn't going to be easy..but I am trying my best to not give in to the baba. Olivia basically refuses the milk from a sippy cup.. I even bought her a new sippy (Nuby) only for milk but she just won't have it! I am willing to try another sippy (Nuby) with the straw but I really don't want to go nuts with the sippy cup (like I did with the bottles!) LOL
Happy New Year! Next blog will be in 2009!!!
